• French Proficiency: 30% of ITAs 

• STEM Occupations: 25% of ITAs 

• Healthcare Occupations: 15% of ITAs 

• Trade Occupations: 5% of ITAs 

• Transport Occupations: 3% of ITAs 

• Agriculture and Agri-Food Occupations: 0.5% of ITAs 

The remaining 21.5% of ITAs will go to candidates in general draws, which do not target specific occupations or attributes. 

Recent Express Entry Draws for Trade Professions 

The October 23 draw marked the first trade-occupation-specific category-based draw since July 4, when IRCC similarly invited 1,800 candidates with a CRS threshold of 436. In the recent past, IRCC has held multiple draws, catering to various categories like the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). This focus on specific candidate groups helps Canada meet both temporary and permanent residency targets by encouraging skilled trade professionals to transition from temporary status to permanent residency.
